A Refreshing Yet Delicate Ramen Bowl

AFURI Harajuku is located a short distance from the Takeshita-Dori exit of JR Harajuku Station.

The restaurant is named after Mount Afuri in Kanagawa Prefecture. At a glance you would likely wonder if it really is a ramen shop. The refreshing aroma of yuzu welcomes you as you enter. A stylish ambience and a U-shaped counter will make you feel as if you are in a fancy café.

The signature bowl is Yuzu Shio Ramen. The toppings that come with the charcoal-grilled pork chashu include mizuna (mustard greens), a boiled egg, menma, seaweed and tiny slivers of yuzu (citrus fruit) peel. The soup, brewed with natural spring water from Mt. Afuri, is a beautiful golden color. The chicken broth base is assari (light) while the main broth is kotteri (heavy). Thin noodles are made with whole grain flour from Hokkaido. The bowl of ramen—soup, noodles, and toppings--is completely free of chemical additives.

The restaurant believes in adapting to the changing needs of its customers. There is a vegan ramen with seasonal vegetables for vegetarians and health-conscious people. Konnyaku (konjac) noodles are available for those concerned about sugar in their diet.

見かけると入ってしまいます。毎回塩ラーメンにしますが、やさしくほのかに柚子の香りがしてとても好きなスープ。毎回スープも全部飲み干しです。 Quote from Google Map Review
