Tantalizing Beef Cooked Over a Charcoal Grill

Located in the back alleys of Asakusa, Hontosaya has been around since 1981. They have a capacity of 100 people including the second floor.

The restaurant remains crowded throughout the year.  It is best known for tokujo kalbi. These thick cuts of premium kalbi beef are offered at a relatively affordable price compared to other yakiniku restaurants. Besides meat, Hontosaya offers seafood and various vegetables for grilling.

The two floors of the restaurant differ in the method of cooking. The first floor follows the traditional style of using a small charcoal grill at the customer’s table. When pieces of meat are placed on the charcoal grill, juice falls on the charcoal, causing smoke to rise. This results in uniformly smoked meat. In contrast, the second floor uses modern smokeless roasters. We recommend using a charcoal grill unless you are bothered by the smell and smoke.

Reservation recommended!

分厚くて柔らかいとても美味しいお肉です。店内は煙でモクモクしていて匂いが服に付くのでるのでラフな服装で行った方が良いかも。とにかく美味しいです。 Quote from Google Map Review
