Superb Yakitori with Ample Selections

Jidoriya, an izakaya establishment, specializes in chicken dishes. As the name of the restaurant implies, it serves charcoal-grilled Jidori chicken, a variety of mixed-breed domestic free-range chicken, procured fresh from a contracted farm in Chiba Prefecture. The entire Jidori chickens are delivered fresh.

The establishment is situated in a narrow lane in Shimbashi 4-Chome, just off Shintora-Dori Avenue, a major thoroughfare connecting Shimbashi and Toranomon. Shimbashi is frequently considered a mecca for salarymen and boasts one of Tokyo's bustling dining scenes.

Jidoriya serves approximately 20 varieties of yakitori, utilizing various cuts of the chicken. Prices per skewer may be considered relatively high; however, one can be assured that they will not be disappointed. Not only are the portions generous, but each bite is succulent and utterly satisfying. It is suggested to commence by ordering the Tokusen (extra special) Moriawase (assorted), comprising of 6 different types of yakitori. Additional skewers can then be ordered a la carte. A diverse selection of Japanese sake is available, complementing the yakitori well.

Reservations are mandatory to secure seating.
