Hand-Crafted Freshly-Boiled Sanuki Udon

Karukaya has been running its business on the rooftop of the Seibu Ikebukuro Main Store since its establishment in 1968. Karukaya proudly serves authentic Sanuki Udon, a soul food of Kagawa Prefecture. It is made entirely by hand. Such hand-crafted noodles are very rare in recent years with the advancement of mechanization. The noodles come in varying sizes in shapes that create a chewy and pleasant texture. The most popular menu item is Tsuke (dipping) Udon, which is a bowl of Sanuki Udon served with a side of dipping sauce. You can choose between hot or cold noodles. Prices of all the menu items are stunningly low, ranging from 500 to 600 yen.
