Yakiniku with a Kappo Theme

The restaurant is within a 10-minute walk of Roppongi Hills. Walk towards Hiroo along the street from Nishi-Azabu intersection.

The entrance exudes a soothing vibe as if you are entering a Japanese garden. Inside, private rooms are lined up on both sides of the corridor. The ambiance of this restaurant is like a ryokan, a type of traditional Japanese inn. You may have the feeling that you are about to take part in a tea ceremony. Only private rooms are available. There is a closet in each room in order to keep your luggage and jackets free of smells and stains.

The restaurant is run by Kenshiro Iwasaki, owner chef, who knows his way around beef. He offers a new style of yakiniku that has never been served before: it is a combination of conventional yakiniku with Japanese kappo (high-class fine dining). Kenshiro is one of a few restaurants that serve beef sashimi since only a handful of restaurants are able to pass the strict government requirements to serve raw meat. Avoiding the need for preserving, the restaurant only procures meat that can be consumed immediately.

The restaurant offers a wide variety of domestic brand meats including the rare Ozaki beef bred in Miyazaki Prefecture. The farm, where the meat is obtained, produces only 30 cows per year. Okazaki beef is characterized by its rich taste and lean meat. All the meat is grilled right in front of you by an employee. Kenshiro serves both thinly sliced meat but also, the less commonly served, thickly sliced steaks. The steak is cut into bite-sized pieces that may be eaten with chopsticks.

The yakiniku menu offers both a la carte and entire-course options. The course menu is recommended for first timers. The priciest course, Kyo-Omotenashi, is a top-ranked meal that costs 30,000 yen per person and can be booked only on a second or subsequent visit as availability is limited to one customer pair per day. The Musubi course is a sequence of 12 dishes from appetizer to dessert. It is priced at 16,000 yen per person. Depending on your budget, there are cheaper course sets to choose from.

完全個室なので落ち着いて過ごせる。タンが絶品。肉は全てお店の方が焼いてくれるので一番美味しい状態で食べられる。盛り付けは焼肉というよりフレンチのような美しさがあり視覚でも楽しめる。 Quote from Google Map Review
