History and Culture with Your Soba

Namiki Yabusoba is located on Namiki Street, just a few minutes away from Kaminarimon Gate of Sensoji Temple.

This famous restaurant has been featured in popular television shows and magazines. The appearance of the restaurant is a defining feature of Namiki Yabusoba. After passing through the entrance, there is raised tatami-floored seating (''zashiki'') on the left and tables and seats on an earthen floor on the right. As usual, you will need to take off your shoes when entering the zashiki.

The main items on the menu are all soba dishes, but the restaurant also serves various side dishes.  Noodles are hand-made Juwari buckwheat soba dipped in a relatively thick and salty broth. At the end of the meal, you will be provided with "sobayu," a hot water used for boiling soba. Adding this sobayu to your bowl creates a soup that provides a healthy and nutritious ending to your meal.

Zaru soba is essentially a plain classic soba but, if you prefer to have more variety, you can order Tenzaru soba which is served with shrimp tempura. If you are really adventuresome, try ordering Yamakake soba, a white slimy topping made of grated mountain potato.

蕎麦は評判通り美味しく、つゆは蕎麦湯で割ると絶品でした。相席必須ですが、不快になる事はなく、従業員の方の対応も素晴らしかったと思います。行列は出来てますが、回転が早いためすぐに案内されます。 Quote from Google Map Review
