The restaurant is on the first floor of Roppongi Hills along Keyakizaka-Dori.
Pass between the large noren (curtain) and slide the wooden framed doors to enter. You will encounter an open kitchen atmosphere that can get a bit noisy at times.
As the name of the restaurant suggests, try ordering a la carte dishes with sake before you eat your soba. The name, Soba-mae, literally can be interpreted as before soba.
One of the most popular items on the menu is Bakudan (literally translated as bomb). It is a colorful plate consisting of such ingredients as vegetables, tuna, sujiko (salmon roe), natto (fermented soybeans), and kelp; these are topped with an egg yolk. Mix it all up, place it onto nori (seaweed), wrap it, and eat it all up. There are many more one plate dishes such as dashimaki tamago, assorted sashimi, tempura, and seasonal menus, many of which can be found in the izakaya at night.
To conclude your meal, order their signature towari soba. The restaurant recommends the chilled Tsuke-soba noodle with a dipping sauce. There are three choices of dipping sauces to choose from: black curry base with roasted spices, Kotteri (rich) base with welsh onion, pork oil and black pepper, and goma (sesame) base.
