Toripota Ramen THANK is a mouthful for a restaurant name but it is a useful hint of what is in store for guests. Toripota refers to the chicken potage soup that is a substitute for the normal pork-based broth. Toripota (literally, chicken potage) provides the base for this unique ramen that you will thank your lucky stars for discovering. At departure, don’t forget to say “arigato” to your host.
The restaurant is located between Tokyo Tower and JR Hamamatsucho Station. It may be found along a narrow street, a few blocks from the Daimon metro Station.
The ordering process at the restaurant is somewhat complicated for non-Japanese speakers since there are so many choices and combinations to consider. Please ask the staff to help you navigate your way through the ticket machine process.
A variety of vegetables is added to the toripata to create a ramen dish with a creamy and mild taste. You can choose from three levels of soup thickness: "sarari," "torori," or "poteri"; that is, light, moderately thick, or thick soup. The rich chicken broth is free of chemical additives.
Cuts of flavorful “Daisen Dori”, a breed of premium chicken raised in Tottori Prefecture, replaces the usual pork chashu as a topping along with negi, menma, and a boiled egg. Noodles are thin and are made with Hokkaido flour.
For a finisher after eating the noodles, we recommend adding white rice and/or stirring grated parmesan cheese into the remaining broth in your bowl. You will leave the restaurant full and satisfied.
