Yakiniku Kunimoto Shinkan is located a few blocks away from the south exit of JR Hamamatucho Station. The building’s exterior is made of wood and bricks. The interior is partitioned into sections by a mixture of wood and brick walls surrounding each table.
The restaurant requires a customer to complete their order over the phone when making a reservation. This helps to insure efficient and high-quality service starting at arrival. At the time of your reservation, you will be asked to choose from one of three dinner types – “joto,” “tobikiri,” and “bekkaku.” You are guaranteed to receive beautifully decorated, top-quality cuts of meat. Additional portions can be ordered on the spot at the restaurant. Cooking is at your table.
The restaurant is unique in that management discourages loud noises so that customers can concentrate on eating and fully savoring the dishes. If kids are accompanying you, they need to be junior high school age or above.
The restaurant’s management likes to think of the meat as the main theme (shuyaku) in a drama. The supporting roles are played by the restaurant and staff.
The master selects the freshest beef available every single day and carefully decides how to slice it. Another distinguishing feature of this restaurant is the charcoal grill which uses domestic wood and no chemical substances. The collaboration between charcoal grill and Kuroge Wagyu (rated A5) results in an amazing yakiniku treat: crunchy on the outside and juicy with a smoky aroma on the inside.
