Genuine Edomae Style Sushi Since 1866

Bentenyama Miyako Sushi is located just a few blocks away from Sensoji Temple.

Founded in 1866 at the end of the Edo period, the restaurant continues to preserve the classic techniques of Edomae sushi. The focus of this restaurant is offering authentic sushi at reasonable prices while keeping Edomae sushi traditions alive.

The restaurant is run by Tadashi Uchida, a fifth-generation chef. He is assisted by Daisuke Yamashita, a sixth-generation chef. After graduating from Rikkyo University (one of the Big Six universities in Tokyo), chef Uchida was trained by his father who was a fourth-generation chef.

Chef Yamashita became an apprentice in 1989 after graduating from a local junior high school. He was trained under the strict guidance of a fourth-generation chef and simultaneously received moral influence from Chef Uchida. In 2013 Chef Yamashita was appointed the sixth-generation chef.

Chef Uchida's eldest daughter serves as the Okami or proprietress.

正統派、江戸前寿司。お店の方々も丁寧です江戸前の仕事とはこちらのようなお寿司の事を言うのでしょう。ネタの仕込みからシャリの握り加減、最高でした。 Quote from Google Map Review
