Savory Sukiyaki-Like Gyunabe

Yonekyu Honten is located near Asakusa Station.

The ambiance of this restaurant is like a ryokan, a type of traditional Japanese inn. Staff will welcome you with a Japanese taiko drum with the number of beats depending on the number of guests.

Established in 1886, Yonekyu Honten has been serving gyunabe (beef hot pot) passed down in the family for generations. Gyunabe is a simple version of sukiyaki. It is served with meat, vegetables and raw egg.

You will have a choice of tatami style seating or western tables.

The restaurant has only two choices on their menu: Toku no Gyunabe and Ue no Gyunabe. Rice, miso soup and pickles can be added to the set menu for an extra charge. Staff will cook on an iron pan at your table for you; just sit back and enjoy the scenery until all is ready.

The price of your meal is considered cheaper than market given the tender mouth-watering wagyu beef and the quality of service provided.

高級すき焼き店にも負けていない味ですが、お財布に優しいです。祖父の代からお世話になっており、歴史のある店内が落ち着きます。浅草界隈のちょっとしたご馳走が味わえる良いお店です。 Quote from Google Map Review
