A Michelin Bib Gourmand Restaurant

Tonkatsu Nanaido, an esteemed eatery, is situated beside the well-known Yakitori Imai, which is owned and operated by the same chef. The restaurant serves the unparalleled taste of the Amagi Shamo breed of chicken in the form of a deliciously prepared chicken cutlet, drawing on the background of a traditional yakitori establishment.

The Amagi Shamo chicken, raised on the fertile land of Izu City in Shizuoka Prefecture, is renowned for its optimal balance of flavor and texture. These chickens are raised in a free-range environment, and are housed in coops located along the banks of rivers, surrounded by the picturesque mountains of Izu. The refreshing breeze from the mountains provides an ideal environment for producing the highest quality meat, which is characterized by its firmness, lack of odor, and a rich, savory fat content when bitten into.

The owner-chef, Mr. Takashi Imai, has had a lifelong passion for tonkatsu dating back to his childhood and has always aspired to own his own restaurant. Despite shifts in his cooking station from grilling to frying, and changes in the primary ingredient from chicken to pork, his impeccable sense of timing and heat application remains unmatched. Each dish is complemented by a delicious miso soup and meticulously prepared sides of cabbage and pickles, all imbued with rich, robust flavors. The rice is cooked in a traditional "hagama" pot and transferred to an "ohitsu" (round wooden container) to preserve its taste even when cooled.

The tonkatsu that is carefully fried at a low temperature is able to concentrate the rich flavors of the meat within its crisp coating. Each bite yields tender meat that fully releases its taste in the mouth. Special attention is given to the use of the Amagi Shamo breed of chicken, particularly the breast and thigh meat, to create a chicken cutlet that is unparalleled in taste and quality. The cutlet can be enjoyed with a traditional sauce or sprinkled with French Guerande coarse salt.

とんかつはここでしか食べれなくなりました。いつ行っても行列ですが、何時に入店できるか教えて下さいますので安心です。ご飯、キャベツのおかわりなども声をかけてくれる気遣いもあり、本当に満足度が高いです。 Quote from Google Map Review
