[Tokyo] Maruyama Shokudo (まるやま食堂): Shogayaki Teishoku Delights at a Friendly Canteen Near Haneda Airport

Maruyama-Shokudo-1

Discover the Delightful Shogayaki at Maruyama Shokudo!

Nestled not far from Haneda Airport, Maruyama Shokudo in Kamata is renowned for its exquisite cuisine, featuring the subtly rich and delicately fatty Hayashi SPF pork. While tonkatsu was introduced previously, during our recent visit, we opted for the equally beloved Shogayaki set.

Maruyama-Shokudo-2

The praised Hayashi SPF pork, known for its odorless nature and enduring tenderness even as it cools, takes center stage. The Shogayaki, a grilled ginger pork delight, steals the spotlight with three variations: loin, rib loin, and sirloin. Thinly sliced Hayashi SPF pork, infused with ginger, forms a delightful ensemble over julienned cabbage, immersed in the richness of a well-coated ginger sauce.  Juicy, fragrant, and a perfect match for rice, Shogayaki is a must-try for ginger pork enthusiasts.

Maruyama-Shokudo-3

Maruyama Shokudo’s miso soup, brimming with ingredients, exudes a comforting essence that transports you to the classic realm of pork soup. For those opting for the set meal (Teishoku), a mere 200 yen unlocks the option to switch to Tonjiru, elevating the dining experience.
