Kawagoe-ya is a cozy restaurant situated in Botancho Shopping Street, renowned for its delightful aroma and famous yakitori. Located not far from Monzen-Nakacho station, it exudes a traditional neighborhood atmosphere. Though the area was once bustling with activity, it has now transformed into a quieter space adorned with charming shops. Kawagoe-ya holds historical significance, having been visited by notable figures such as Rui Yoshida, a television personality known for exploring various bars and restaurants.

Upon entering, the restaurant emanates a familial ambiance. The owner skillfully prepares the skewers, while his wife serves patrons with kindness, and their son assists in the kitchen. This welcoming atmosphere ensures that even solo diners feel at ease.

The yakitori is priced at 140 yen each, except for the chicken wings, which are priced at 190 yen. Whether plain or glazed, they boast excellent flavor. The tsukune, a type of meatball, stands out for its juicy and flavorful taste.

However, the highlight of the menu is the Motsu Nikomi, priced at 500 yen. This dish features pork intestines simmered in a rich miso broth until tender. It’s a culinary gem not to be missed by those seeking something exceptional.
